I think the only reason why people hold on to their memories so tight is because memories are the only things that don't change when everything else does.

Today’s menus were great! Fish, spring rolls. However I screwed up my fish’s side dish. But the screwing up moment was the best few seconds of my cooking life so far! We were supposed to cook potatoes halfway, and finish the potato in the frying pan and glaze it with butter. So as usual, cooked the potatoes and put it aside. I was making mayonnaise while my partner melted the butter. However he melted a lot of butter and left the pan on fire for some time. As I finished with my mayonnaise, I put the potatoes in and tried to flick the potatoes. In no time, I did flambé.  Flambé is the process where you burn spirits or alcohol to give your food their flavor, but the food won’t be alcoholic. However, that term is also used when you set your pan on fire. I was freaking shocked. “Holy shit, holy shit, the fire wasn’t this big when I saw people did it, did I burn the saucepan?”  Mine was like that. Some of my friends who saw it were awed. My teacher, didn’t see that, however he could tell by just listening the burning sound. Cool uh. He said “wow, someone is becoming a professional chef now”. The flame lasted for about 5 seconds. It was enormous. And I have contributed to the stain on the ceiling. Lol. After that splendid 5 seconds, my potatoes were almost black in color, so I stopped cooking and put them aside. Due to the vigorous burning, my potatoes were burnt on the outside, while half cooked in the middle. :[ But it tasted great! The potatoes were glazed perfectly. It’s just not as good looking as normal cooking. Okay, that was the most significant moment of the day! :D Theory, test, quite easy, however there were some weird questions that are not in the book. Okay, maybe have, but I’ve never seen it. Then we watched 2 episodes of Hell kitchen. Then go home. Yesterday was the last day of having internet connection in my room, so today I have to go down again to use internet. That’s all for today. Bubye~ |
