title : 50/50 !
2 days of practical exam. Piece of cake. q:
So, all we had to prepare for the exams are workflow. One with a better workflow will be able to do the exam first. The class were divided into 2 groups due to limited power supply for the stoves. 1st day's menu : risotto, coq au vin, and vegetables for side dish (<1.5hours). It was really easy as we just made the same menu in the previous week. 2nd day's menu : fish and chips with salad. (<45mins) 2nd day (today) was more interesting, so I just write about today's. I did some research about today's menu last night; batter, salad dressing, as well as mayonnaise. Found a recipe of mayonnaise in Bon Appetit website. Actually, I found out ways to improve my fish and chips, however, my teacher discouraged them as it will consume a lot of time. So i just used the mayonnaise recipe, and used my teacher's way of cooking the fish and chips. Ingredients of the mayonnaise is about the same as what my teacher gave us, only this time I measured everything PERFECTLY, as written in the recipe. As expected, the result was also PERFECT! consistent and nice. :] Usually my teacher teaches us to measure by eye and tasting. ~ fish ~ chips ~ mayonnaise (in the lemon) ~ salad ~ My teacher examined and tasted the food. His comments were "... fish is cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside, same goes to the chips and, your mayonnaise is very consistent and nice. ... your salad is good too." I scored 50/50 for today's practical exam, better than yesterday though. I scored 47/50 for yesterday's. :] Thank be to God, and Bon appetit's recipe, and the teaspoon (which I used for measuring the ingredients for mayonnaise) LOL. :] Later after school, around 3-3.30, my classmates asked me to play some sports with them. It's a rare opportunity to be able to spend time with them, so I just went along. So, we played volleyball, soccer, badminton. It's been sometime since I last played soccer and badminton. Recalled times I played soccer with my 1E4 and 2E4 classmates, and badminton with my hostel mates. I really miss those good old times. We had good times. Unfortunately, the great parts of my day ended not so long after. We left at around 5p.m. as my friend and I had to go to work. I left to work immediately. Once I reached the bus stop, I realized that my transport card has no balance in it. So I had to pay for the trips to and from work. From my house, to my workplace, the bus fare was $3.40. One way. =__= Once I reached at Hog's breath, I saw this week's roster. My shift has been changed to tomorrow without notification. I had no choice but to drag my ass back home without working. $3.40 wasted just like that. Nothing interesting afterwards. Now I have to find recipe for next week practical. Next week's practical will be AMAZING. We are able to make ANY kind of foods. And I do mean ANY kind, you name it.. But we have to give the ingredients to our teacher by tomorrow, so that he can order the ingredients. We're working in a group. In my group, I'm in charge of desserts. I'm going to make creme brulee and white-chocolate-dipped strawberries. Alright. that's all for today. Bubye~ |
